Autumn Drive

http://www.clevelandseniors.com/images/events/west-virginia/cheat-mountain-salamander.jpgAlex decided to surprise the family by taking us on a drive through the mountains up by sundance to see the changing colors of the leaves. It was absolutely breathtaking. It was a good thing we got lost in the alpine loop because through that we were able to see deep valleys and overlapping peaks covered with the bright colors of fall. This picture isn't exactly one that we took but it's the best one I could find to represent what we saw.

Happy 1 year to us!

Saturday, August 15, 2009 was the best day of my (Stacey) life. I woke up to this beautiful rose in our blender vase. It's our tradition now. It started when we were dating. Alex apologized to me for something that we both don't remember what it was. I didn't have a vase so I put it in my blender. I love that I have both these pictures.
The rest of the day, we simply spent together... like it always should be and always will be. We talked about this past year and how it has really been the BEST of our lives. Alex then showed me his present. He had made a picture slide show of the highlights of our first year in marriage. Complete with music and everything! Just writing about it makes me want to go watch it again! We had a picnic dinner at Timpanogos park and played a game where we iced cookies with a design of a memory of our first year of marriage... annd then ate them of course:) We ended the day by looking through our journals of the past year, picking out the highlights and perspectives on the different events that meant the most to us. An activity that is highly recommended.
